Position Overview:
BLN24 is seeking a Quality Engineer to focus on ensuring that digital products, documentation, and training materials developed for government programs meet federal accessibility requirements and quality standards.
The Quality Engineer will play a key role in reviewing deliverables, performing accessibility testing, and supporting quality assurance activities across multiple projects. The position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of accessibility standards, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cybersecurity specialists, policy analysts, instructional designers, and technical staff.
This role helps ensure that government digital services are accessible, compliant, and usable for all users, including individuals with disabilities.

The Quality Engineer will play a key role in reviewing deliverables, performing accessibility testing, and supporting quality assurance activities across multiple projects. The position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of accessibility standards, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cybersecurity specialists, policy analysts, instructional designers, and technical staff.
This role helps ensure that government digital services are accessible, compliant, and usable for all users, including individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define test strategy, plans, and scenarios across functional, regression, and integration layers.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and promote shift-left quality practices.
- Implement API testing (Postman/REST Assured), performance testing (JMeter), and test data management.
- Perform accessibility testing and validation of digital content (WCAG 2.2/Section 508) using tools (axe, WAVE) and screen readers (JAWS, NVDA).
- Ensure deliverables comply with federal accessibility requirements and applicable accessibility standards.
- Collaborate on remediation and produce accessibility documentation (e.g., VPAT/ACR).
- Build quality dashboards and report defects, trends, and coverage metrics.
- Participate in internal quality reviews and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist with preparing compliance documentation required for government contract deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years in software QA/Quality Engineering, including test automation.
- Practical experience with digital accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.2 AA).
- Experience performing accessibility testing of web applications, documents, or training materials.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and defect tracking (Jira/Azure DevOps).
- Strong analytical skills and clear defect documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accessibility certifications such as CPACC, WAS, or other IAAP certifications.
- Experience supporting federal agencies or government contracting environments.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing for learning platforms, digital training materials, or LMS systems.
