The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and optimizing data processing and analysis systems by applying advanced statistical modeling, data engineering techniques, and machine learning methodologies. The incumbent will write clean, performant code, develop and test custom statistical models, and contribute to the full development lifecycle, from implementation to deployment. Additionally, the Data Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful data solutions and maintain detailed system documentation to support ongoing improvements.

BLN24 is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team.
About the Role:
The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and optimizing data processing and analysis systems by applying advanced statistical modeling, data engineering techniques, and machine learning methodologies. The incumbent will write clean, performant code, develop and test custom statistical models, and contribute to the full development lifecycle, from implementation to deployment. Additionally, the Data Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful data solutions and maintain detailed system documentation to support ongoing improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable system to automate data ingestion, processing, and analysis.
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning models to analyze complex datasets, generate actionable insights and improve data-driven processes.
- Create, implement and optimize data pipelines and machine learning workflows.
- Conduct data quality checks, profiling, and validation to ensure the integrity and accuracy across systems.
- Work with large-scale datasets using cloud-based big data platforms and technologies.
- Utilize data analytics and visualization tools to explore, interpret, and present data effectively.
- Communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Handle sensitive and protected data, ensuring strict adherence to privacy and security regulations.
- Gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Contribute to end-to-end data science projects, from problem definition and data collection to model development and deployment.
- B.S. in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, data engineering, or a related field, with a focus on big data projects preferred.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python for data handling, statistical modeling, and system design.
- Expertise in using data visualization tools (e.g., Plotly) to effectively communicate data insights
- Experience in data processing frameworks, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Proven ability to work with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics and how to apply them to business and data challenges.
- Exposure to MLOps, model deployment, and monitoring techniques.
- Capable of supporting system design, road-mapping, and critical development tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex data science concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
