Position Overview:
The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, and ongoing maintenance of the PowerTrain LMS to ensure a secure, reliable, and user-friendly training environment. This role supports learners, course managers, and program stakeholders by managing system settings, user access, reporting, and content structure across multiple training formats.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in LMS administration, troubleshooting, and customer support, with the ability to ensure data integrity, optimize system performance, and continuously improve platform usability. The LMS Administrator will also contribute to modernization efforts such as automation, dashboard development, and system integrations to help the LMS evolve alongside organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer LMS configuration, user provisioning, roles/permissions, and course catalogs.
Manage course uploads and standards (SCORM 1.2/2004, xAPI/Tin Can), testing, and versioning.
Build dashboards and compliance reports; support audits and training KPIs.
Integrate LMS with HRIS/IdP (e.g., SSO/SAML/Okta/Azure AD) and third-party content providers.
Collaborate with SMEs to develop content; support authoring tools (Articulate 360, Captivate, Rise).
Provide tier-2 support, job aids, and training for admins, instructors, and learners.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years administering an LMS (PowerTrain, Cornerstone, Moodle, Docebo, or similar).
Experience with SCORM/xAPI, LMS data models, and eLearning QA.
Familiarity with learning analytics and report builders; strong Excel/CSV skills.
Understanding of accessibility for eLearning content (WCAG/Section 508).
Bachelor’s in Education/Instructional Design/IT or equivalent experience.
US. Citizenship Required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience administering PowerTrain LMS or similar Government/enterprise learning platforms.
Familiarity working in a Federal Government or highly regulated environment with mandatory training compliance requirements.
Experience supporting system enhancements such as workflow automation, dashboard development, and process optimization.
Familiarity integrating LMS platforms with enterprise systems or tools (e.g., project management platforms, cybersecurity tools, identity/access management solutions).
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including instructional designers, trainers, and program leadership.

Strong customer service mindset with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple requests and competing priorities.
Proactive problem-solving approach, including the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and identify root causes.
Collaborative team player with the ability to coordinate effectively across program stakeholders and training teams.
Adaptable and improvement-focused, with interest in continuously enhancing platform usability, reporting, and system performance.
