Position Title: AI Data Engineer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented AI Data Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure to support artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) initiatives. Working closely with AI data analysts and software developers, you will help design and deliver innovative tools that leverage large data sets and AI technologies to address critical questions and deliver actionable insights for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
- Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Prepare and transform datasets for AI/ML model development, including data cleaning, wrangling, and feature engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI/ML engineers and analysts, to implement automated data processing and reporting solutions.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain data systems on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to ensure uptime and data security.
- Implement rigorous data quality checks to ensure the integrity of data used in analytics and model training.
- Leverage big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Databricks) to process and analyze large-scale datasets.
- Document workflows, processes, and configurations for reproducibility and team knowledge-sharing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to prepare datasets for ML/AI applications.
- Implement and optimize database queries to support real-time and batch data processing needs.
- Build, maintain, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT processes to integrate and transform data from internal and external sources (APIs, databases, cloud services).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala) and SQL for data engineering tasks.
- Experience with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi, Prefect) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data transformation, and modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Databricks) and containerization tools like Docker.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and API integration techniques.
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and data preparation for AI/ML workflows.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and privacy standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills for pipeline and infrastructure issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with attention to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.
